The Puzzle

I'm trying to put the puzzle together
where did all those pieces go?
did I manage to lose them?
did they fall down below?
 
The picture isn't completely clear
I don't have all I need
I'm working on making it fit
this puzzle is tough indeed
 
With each step I take
another piece snaps in
the picture is taking shape
I see where I must begin
 
some pieces have been small
some are more worth while
some pieces have not been easy to get
while others bring on a smile
 
It wasn't going to happen quickly
I needed all the pieces to make it right
and now that I can see the true picture
it's time for me to take flight

You're restricted,
conflicted,
wondering where
you're going next.
You're tied up,
bound by the past,
the shoulds, the regret,
held so tight
you can't move.
You wonder about
how you can be free,
how you can change
the future ahead.
But the rope tightens
you can't get free
but why?
Look around -
who is stopping you?
There is no one here but you.
Set yourself free,
break the ties that bind,
the hold is your own,
once you remove that,
there is not much
that can stop you now.

Hides the past
The things I thought I left behind
The people who impacted me
 
In the shadows
Hides my clear sight
The soft hue is fuzzy and grey
The confusion sets in

The burden I no longer want to carry

I Have Found Happiness In My Heart

I have found happiness in my heart.
What an unusual place to find it!
I haven’t seen it there for a long time.
I almost forgot what it felt like.
 
I have found happiness in my heart.
It’s the place that it should be all along.
I never realized how cold I felt without it.
The warmth reminds me of where I want to be.
 
I have found happiness in my heart.
The small flame fights to get brighter.
I can feel it chipping away at the ice

a fresh start
a better way
to live from the heart.

cares float away

Put Your Heart Into It

Put your heart into it.
Add love in whatever you do.
Find ways to give hope
and see the good as best you can.
Because when you look
though the eyes of
compassion, love and
understanding, you see things,
people, situations in whole
new vision and light.
When you shut your heart off,

Who do you listen to?

People on the outside and

voices that aren't yours?

Maybe they know better,

you say, how could I know?

How could you not?

What is best for you

can only be determined by you.

Misteps you have made

in the past make you believe

that you don't know what's best.

Aren't mistakes part of learning?

Step Forward

When you realize you are far from center,
not in the place you want to be,
you have a choice.
Stay where you are and
not reach your goals, be miserable
and feel like life is never going to change.
The other choice is to take steps,
no matter how small, no matter how few,
to get back to your center.
You didn't get the far away in one day,
you won't get back to the center

Being someone else doesn't fit you.
