We are busy people these days, aren't we? We have so much on our plates - errands to run, work to do, family to support, work out, tasks to finish - personal, professional. Sure, we can check all those things off our lists. We accomplish so much all the time.
However, to do all that, it takes constant effort. I can't think of how many times I've wondered why there aren't more hours in the day or if could I get through the next day with little sleep.
But what about the pace ... Continue reading ...

Have
you ever stayed in a bad situation too long until it finally hits a
breaking point where you’re forced to make a decision that is much more
dramatic than it had to be? Why do you think it took you so long to
make a chance? Do we really like to be miserable, is that it? Are we
conditioned as humans to sit in hurt and pain until someone else does
something about it?
No,
as humans, we are conditioned to settle into stable jobs, families,... Continue reading ...

Words
have so much power. I think because we throw words around every day
through discussions, presentations, reading, listening to talk shows,
watching tv and so many other ways, words are around us constantly. We
forget sometimes they make an impact.
When we are having a
discussion we have an option to hurt or heal. We can say the truth
with compassion or venom. It is our choice.
I've recently had some
intense conversations with several friends of mine. They count on me
to tell t... Continue reading ...

New Beginnings
are a positive thing, right? Sure, unless you're like many of us who
experience fear when things change. So how can we turn terror to
triumph?
For example, you're thinking about putting out a newsletter.
You start by thinking, "Wow, it will be great to get out there, meet
and help new people and learn lots of stuff", but then you may think
something like this twice as much, "Oh, no, what if no one signs up for
the newsletter? What if no ... Continue reading ...

We're
not good with change as humans. We like things to be stable and when
the unknown gets thrown into the mix, we struggle to find the solid
ground again.
This is
understandable. We work so hard to get what we have, we want to keep
our families in the lifestyle they are used to and we have our routine
down pat. So when things start shifting, we worry that life is never
going to be stable again. We focus so much on the uncertainty, we
forget this is a part of life. Life is always goi...

We
process thousands of pieces of information daily, whether it is images,
noises, news, interactions with others and more. Even when we are not
paying attention, our subconscious mind (which keeps all of our
memories, beliefs, values and imagination) records everything that is
going on around us. Our subconscious mind is always working, even in
our sleep. No wonder why we wake up exhausted sometimes!
Before
information goes into our subconscious mind, it hits something called a
"critica... Continue reading ...

As
we go through our day-to-day lives we learn lessons to improve our
experiences and impact our higher self and soul. An interesting
spiritual theory is we come into each lifetime with a group of people
called a “Soul Group” that we live, learn and love with the ultimate
goal of evolving our souls.
On
a basic level, the people in our “Soul Group” make the greatest impacts
to us. Sometimes our interactions with them are pure bliss and we are
blessed to have these people in our life... Continue reading ...

I
was talking to a friend of mine tonight about tarot cards. She was
looking through my deck (the Osho Zen Tarot that you see in this
newsletter) and we were talking about having a connection to the cards
when you read them.
Many
times people will buy a deck of cards, a very traditional deck such as
the Rider-Waite deck, grab a book and proceed to learn the meanings
that way. Some of successful but more often than not, people ask me if
there is a different way to learn because that method... Continue reading ...

I
live in Massachusetts in a town just about 10 miles north of Boston. I
grew up here and, even though I love to visit other places, this is
definitely home.
Part
of the charm of living in Massachusetts is our change of seasons and
unpredictable weather. The joke is "If you don't like the weather in
Massachusetts, wait a minute because it'll change."
Today,
we got about 4 to 5 inches of snow - wet, heavy, pretty snow. I knew I
needed to clean it off before it got dark and the tempera... Continue reading ...

I wish you could see yourself as I see you each day. There is much more than the surface, much more here at play.
You won't look in the mirror can't you see it's only the outside? What about all those wonder things that you insist you have to hide?
It's not as bad as you think. I promise you don't need to fear. Just take a look in the mirror, I guarantee it will all come clear.
Your heart is evident is all the ways you live. You are generous, kind and loving and have so much more to give.
So please, take a l... Continue reading ...

Right now. That is all the matters. The past is a memory. The future is potential. Right now. That is all that is certain. When you travel back in time, or project years ahead, all you can see and do is create ideas and speculate. You can only affect right now. Right here, this moment. Experience what is right in front of you, don't let that chance get away. Plan for the future, learn from the past, but don't live life in either place, live only in right now.
Because as you're looking all around you, you are m... Continue reading ...

I ask you, my dear why do you live in the fear? They don’t appreciate your light
nor understand how you persevere.
And yet, you give your power away to others whose allegiances stray. Taking a risk for loyalty is a game
and you may be losing when you play.
Those who do not deserve you will fade away, it's true. You'll feel better, grow stronger, and find a way to survive, you always do.
Don't let anyone knock you down, throw their stuff on you or break your heart, you deserve better, y... Continue reading ...

You can ask yourself,
"Why did I do this?"
"Why did I choose that?"
Jump on that merry go round
and spin until your get dizzy
because that's all your doing -
going round and round.
It's a ride that will keep going
until you chose stop and get off.
Sure, it's easy to examine why
you do things after it's over.
But don't forget, at the end of it all,
it's still in the past.
All you have left
are the fragments of memories,
the lessons of the mind,
maybe of the heart,
and who you are.
Because e... Continue reading ...

When you experience a miracle
your life changes in a second.
It doesn't have to be big or small.
A miracle is a glorious experience -
one that shifts energy into
happiness, relief and delight.
We experience them often,
more often than we think
through people in our lives,
moments we cherish,
risks we take and
compassion that is shown.
It brings light to all those
who are involved -
giver and receiver.
Because a miracle can save and give
a life a second chance.
It isn't the end of the road... Continue reading ...

Breathe.
Step back, take a breath.
It's not so intense when
you gain a bigger perspective.
Get out of the middle and
get on the sidelines.
Wow, you just gained sight.
It's too hard to see the bigger picture
when you're analyzing the specs.
Breathe.
Look around, take it all in.
You'll see more than before,
notice new things,
embrace other views.
It's time to see it differently,
even if you've seen it
thousands of times before.
Breathe and open your eyes
to something brand new.

You make choices
they were the right ones at the time
live with no regrets
love with all your heart
You make choices
based on experiences in your life
what you've learned
what you've heard
You make choices
knowing you may have to sacrifice yourself
but are doing it for the higher good
for the benefit of someone you love
You make choices
the best that you can
with good intentions
and a open heart
You make choices
your life is yours to lead
make positive impacts wherever you go

Can I become a repairman?
Tinker with it until it's back together
or put together differently.
Does it have to be the same?
Can it be beautiful with new parts?
Can it be uplifted and shifted?
Can I become a repairman?
Find all the pieces
that are scattered around?
Take care to glue it back together,
treat it with kindness, love
and compassion as it blends as one.
Can I be the repairman?
Grab the fists of those who fight
and make them shake on it?
Stop the damage and start the healing

I can see clearly now.
My eyes are opened,
the tears have stopped.
I have perfect sight.
It was right in front of me -
that jewel, shining bright,
but I pretended not to see.
It was there the whole time.
People even pointed it out to me
but I resisted seeing it.
So now I look and I am amazed
at what I have. I've had it all the time.
But I denied it, ignored it.
The cloudiness, the darkness
hid it from my sight or
maybe I did it on my own.
I thought it might be dulled out,
cracked, broken... Continue reading ...

Find your center
stand strong on your foundation
nothing will be able to shake you
if you are in your power place
when you glide around
and you aren't anchored
then you are unbalanced
how are you handling situations
when you aren't as solid?
You can't think straight
your ideas aren't as creative
when you haven't established a base
Take a few moments everyday
to find your strength,
your power, your ground
and then it is much easier
to come from your heart
Do it now, do it everyday

John
Lennon once sang “Instant Karma’s gonna get you…” For years, people
have said (usually when something bad happens in their lives), “Karma
got me – what did I do?”
Karma gets blamed very
easily for the bad things that happen in people’s lives but what about
the good things? What if situations are neither good nor bad – they
just are?
One of the theories of
Karma is that whatever you send out (energy, thoughts, ideas, etc)
comes back - if you do good deeds and thi... Continue reading ...

As she rests
she lies quietly
But her mind is nothing but quiet
Those thoughts race
She worries, anticipates,
thinks about what is coming up next
Before tomorrow comes
It’s an exercise in mental jumping jacks
And while she thinks she is resting
she is exhausted but asking for a sign
Then she feels a gentleness
A softness nothing like of earth
the feathers wrap her like a blanket
of warmth and love
Holding her, comforting her
letting her rest, soothing her mind
whispers tha... Continue reading ...

Start fresh
open your eyes to a new day
you have a clean slate
now is the time to write,
draw and create something new
Sure, it's the new year
but what about starting each day,
each time that you open your eyes,
with a clean slate?
Yesterday is still the past,
just like this year will be very soon.
So don't just make a resolution for 2010,
make one everyday.
Live life happily, be smart in your decisions,
let regrets go and say goodbye to
people who aren't good to you.
