Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder.

When we judge based on how someone looks, we take away their personality, their talents, strengths, pains, triumphs - everything inside that makes them who they are.

Our eyes, our perception, only tell one part of the story. We make a decision based on our own experiences and that is where someone can be unfairly and inaccurately categorized.

Green hair? They must be a freak.
Piercings and Tattoos? Total Degenerate.
Flannel shirt and jeans? Unintelligent.
Business suit? Oh, they must be responsible.

These are all the categorizations we make about people. And they may not be true at all.

But what about you? How do you categorize yourself? Do you make judgements about what you do, who you know, what you say, what life you have led?

What kind of words do you use to describe yourself? Are you looking at yourself through kind eyes, really thinking about your talents or do you look at yourself through those judgemental eyes? Listen to yourself sometime. If you hear yourself or think about yourself in a negative light, say STOP. That is NOT TRUE about me. Then say something positive about yourself.

You can be your harshest critic and by doing so, you peg yourself into a place that might not be true.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder - what beauty do you look at in yourself?
