Ending the Suffering

There is not meant to be suffering,
only happiness and peace.
We create the suffering in our lives
with expectations, disappointments, upsets.

We're told it's not meant to be this way.
Sure, that could be true.
But how do we as spiritual beings in human bodies
live this day to day?

We fall into the trap of the illusion.
The world we think that we know.
The life that we have to build and create.
The expectations that we and others set.

It's not meant to be a rat race.
We're not supposed to run in circles.
The spinning makes us dizzy -
how can we see clearly anymore?

We are not meant to suffer,
we are not meant to cry, to scream,
to sink into the depths of sad.
Our avoidance of our soul is what causes this.

So what is it about others are not "getting" us?
Are we responsible for them?
What about us getting us?
Isn't that all we're responsible for?

So the suffering must end.
All done, put away, transmuted to light.
We are not meant to stay stagnant
but to spin the energy as we dance on into the night.
