It doesn't last.
No matter if it's good or bad,
it just doesn't last.
Time passes.

Holding onto it
is like holding sand.
It may stay for a little while
but it's sifting through your fingers fast.

So why are you worried about
how fast the sand will pass?
If you focus on that,
you'll miss the experience of the sand.

The texture, the color,
the touch, the experience of holding it,
How it makes you feel,
how much is there.  How did it get here?

Sand is going to pass through your hands,
no matter what.  Just like time will pass.
Holding it, treasuring it, sharing it with others,
even transforming it into something different,
gives you a richer experience
than just watching it slip away.

Focus on what you have, not what you're losing.
Sand castle anyone?
