Waiting

Posted by Mary D'Alba on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, In : Poetry
How do I handle this situation?
How do I find the right path?
How do I not watch it crumble?
How do I not bestow my wrath?

There is wisdom within me,
ideas of how to be calm,
ways to be the better person
or skills to stop it going on for long.

I have the power to make change,
it's not anyone else's responsibility.
I know that it takes some time
but I can have peace and tranquility.

The right thing, sometimes,
is just to wait for healing.
Sitting in the place of distance
a...

Let Forgiveness Be Your Guide

Posted by Mary D'Alba on Thursday, March 18, 2010, In : Poetry
Let forgiveness be your guide.
Don't worry about who is wrong
or who happens to be right.
Give the gift of letting go.

Let forgiveness be your guide.
Don't chain yourself to the past.
Let yourself be free of the thoughts.
Give the gift of peace.

Let forgiveness be your guide.
A shift in thought can
make the situation different.
Give the gift of clear vision.

Let forgiveness be your guide.
Show a sign of strength
and use that power for good.
Give the gift of healing.

Let Love Flow Through

Posted by Mary D'Alba on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, In : Poetry
Love flows through
hearts, hands, fingers, toes.
Love flows through
words, looks, smiles, grins.
Love flows through
you, me, family, friends.
Love flows through
walls, barriers, hurt, pain.
Love flows through
challenges, tests, work, tenacity.

Love cannot be stopped,
no matter what the distraction.
Love cannot be broken,
even if mishandled.
Love cannot be warped,
it will go back into beautiful shape.
Love cannot be bought or sold,
it can only be freely given and received.

Compassion Comes From The Heart

Posted by Mary D'Alba on Saturday, March 13, 2010, In : Poetry
Compassion comes from the heart.
It opens doors, it heals,
it holds someone in gentle hands
when they are vulnerable.

Compassion comes from the heart.
It brings people together in
impossible, tense situations.
It dissolves the biggest walls.

Compassion comes from the heart.
It can defy logic and reason
because it works on a higher level
and egos have to be quiet.

Compassion comes from the heart.
You may think there is none inside
but even the smallest glimmer
can be found shining so br...

To Yourself Be True

Posted by Mary D'Alba on Tuesday, February 16, 2010, In : Spiritual
Sometimes the questions
don't get answered.
Sometimes life will not
deal the best hand.
Sometimes it will not
make sense at the time
but it is always
within the plan.

It can be hard to trust,
to understand the reasons why,
but it might not be clear
why you now have tears to cry.
So let the sorrow flow,
release it from your heart and mind,
but while you deal with these feelings,
make sure to yourself you're kind.

There are lessons to be learned,
growth in the way you live and love,
the schoo...

The Power Of Words

Posted by Mary D'Alba on Monday, January 25, 2010, In : Articles

Words have so much power.  I think because we throw words around every day through discussions, presentations, reading, listening to talk shows, watching tv and so many other ways, words are around us constantly.  We forget sometimes they make an impact.

When we are having a discussion we have an option to hurt or heal.   We can say the truth with compassion or venom.  It is our choice.

I've recently had some intense conversations with several friends of mine.   They count on me to tell t...

I don't know

Posted by Mary D'Alba on Saturday, August 22, 2009, In : Spiritual

Carrying that story
must get heavy after a while
why do it? why bring it with you?
maybe you should leave it behind.

There are others who may want to know
but you don't have to tell them
you have a choice -
spill the beans or keep the secret

How would others benefit from knowing?
Is it important to utter the words?
Maybe it's better
just to let the dust settle

Big the bigger person
hush - don't speak
there isn't much more to say
other than "I don't know"
