A New Day

Posted by Mary D'Alba on Monday, August 16, 2010, In : Poetry

There are days you wonder
why you get out of bed
"What am I doing?" you say.

It may be in the birds, the trees,
the little voices not in your head,
the smell of sweet coffee, the kiss of a love,
a day of a soul being fed

The Energy

Posted by Mary D'Alba on Tuesday, May 11, 2010, In : Poetry

The energy sparks.

It lights a flame,

a small one,

but one that wants to burn.

The energy grows.

The light becomes stronger,

it flickers and fights

to burn and throw light.

The energy survives.

The wind howls

and dims the light

but it never blows it out.

The energy recovers.

It resists all those things

that tries to make it

less than it is.

The energy just is.

It is what it is meant to be.

Nothing can stop

the beautiful light and glow

of the powerful energy.
