Under: Articles
I was writing my "To Do" List
today. That list sometimes haunts me. It is full of things like
return these calls, do this article, pick up the dry cleaning and much
more. Some days I don't finish it, some days I finish it early. Either
way, it's a list that helps me get some focus so I don't get overwhelmed.
It's my little ritual in the morning to write down what I need to do and then I
say "Off I go!"
As I was writing it today, I realized
it there may be other things I need to put on it. It is a very serious
list, full of things that are very mundane. I realized I could do
something a little different with it to remind me to lighten up.
So on today's list, I wrote the
following in between my tasks:
Laugh
Step
out on my balcony and take some deep breaths
Look
in the mirror - see how beautiful I are
Call
a friend - leave them a happy voice mail if I can't reach them
Send
an email to someone I haven't talked to in a while
I don't do this to add tasks to put
pressure on myself and add even more tasks. I do this so I can switch my
brain out of the day-to-day stuff and acknowledge the other parts of me.
I chose to find a way to touch my mind, body and spirit every day and adding it
to my task list helps me find a way to do that.
