According
to Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, Ceremony means "a formal
act or series of acts prescribed by ritual, protocol, or convention."
Ceremonies mean much more than the standard definition. It can mean
embarking on a new life as husband and wife or life partners, showing
the world your new addition to the family, renewing your commitment to
one other, or saying goodbye to someone near to your heart.
Whatever the ceremony may be, the foundation of any
celebration is love. Whether it is the love of two people, the love of
a child, or the love of a new home, all ceremonies should be created
with that love in mind. A unique ceremony can help you create the
ceremony that will capture your deepest feelings and help you remember
your ceremony for years to come.
Whatever your faith or philosophy may be, a ceremony can
incorporate whatever prayers, rituals, ideas, family and friends your
cherish most. A ceremony needs to be a deeply personalized service.
There are all kinds of ceremonies that can be created - weddings,
commitments, anniversary celebrations, renewal of vows, baby namings,
baby blessings, house and business blessings. All faiths, orientations
and relationships can be incorporated in a ceremony. All ceremonies
should be as personal as they are sacred.
