Memorial Day - Gratitude

Posted by Mary D'Alba on Monday, May 28, 2012 Under: Articles

The last Monday in May is the United States Memorial Day.  Memorial Day is a day to remember those who passed while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

On this Memorial Day, I'd like to express my gratitude to all those who have served in any capacity in the Armed Forces.  Your pride in our country, bravery in the face of fear and dedication to citizens of the United States shows the best of human qualities.  You embraced and embodied them during the scariest and most stressful, dangerous situations.

For those who passed while in service, I'd like to thank them also.  They gave the ultimate sacrifice for us to live our lives in freedom.  Future generations born will benefit from the path of freedom they blazed for us.

So however you may celebrate Memorial Day, take a moment to reflect and send a thought to all those who have served, who are still away from their loved ones and those that perished fighting for us.

Thank you to all service men, service women and service animals.  You are truly the best of the best.
